What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Brand Manager, with a demonstrated history of working in the eCommerce industry. Ideally, you will be a data-driven marketer with a true passion for building brands, creating meaningful connections with consumers, leading cross-functional teams, and developing and executing integrated consumer marketing campaigns. That said, this is a hybrid role that will require a the skillset of a management executive comfortable with responsibility for managing budgets alongside our finance team and in accordance approved expenditure limits; and the ability to take a 360 degree business view to ensure that projects are economically viable and commercially successful. You will demonstrate skills in Partnerships, Collaborations and Licensing, Brand Identity, Influencer Marketing, Events, Experiential, PR, Campaign Management, International Growth, Marketing Strategy and Social Media. We are seeking someone with exemplary communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders, together with a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience.

Job requirements

Duties and responsibilities

  • Devise project plans for each client business, identifying key ‘responsible persons’ for tasks and generally ensuring that milestones are met.
  • Working with the wider team in assisting to devise and implement business plans.
  • Responding to problems and seeking to proactively avoid them.
  • Bringing together all of the moving parts to ensure that the business streams run smoothly and professionally.
  • Long term strategy, brand building and objective setting across three - four key Client brands.
  • Identifying more immediate ‘quick wins’ drawing on your experience in the sector.
  • Working alongside our Business Affairs, Legal & Finance team to oversee the brand’s budgets and protecting the brand equity. Tracking and managing complex marketing budgets to ensure that gross margin and marketing margin objectives are met.
  • Collaborating with our in-house marketing team and external consultants to produce global marketing plans to develop the brand including brand strategies, pricing, media planning and sampling strategies.
  • Ensuring the successful launch of new products. Maximise brand opportunities through finding creative solutions.
  • Make strong recommendations for pricing through analysis of competitors’ prices, company pricing policy and gross margins, thereby ensuring correct price positioning and profitability within the market.
  • Analyse brand sales history, shares and marketing investment and derive future strategies.
  • Ensuring consistent messaging, guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Pitching for new exploitation opportunities.
  • Preparing accurate reporting.

  • An honours degree in a vocational qualification is preferred. We will consider candidates without a degree but with exceptional experience.

Working conditions

The role is usually carried out during normal business hours. Location can be a blend of working remotely (from home) and from the company’s head office situated within Sony Music Entertainment’s offices close to High Street Kensington (we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate). On occasion, the job may require evening or weekend work, remote working or work-related travel for new business opportunities.

The typical working day will be eight hours with an hour for lunch. Start time allows for flexibility within core business hours. May offer flexible working hours at the discretion of the Directors.

The job may involve working with challenging stakeholders or clients, from time to time.
